Join us for a special Blood Road screening and fundraiser!

Experience the power of story, community, and purpose.

You're invited to an inspiring screening of Blood Road, the Emmy Award-winning documentary that follows Rebecca Rusch's journey as she rode 2,000 miles along the Ho Chi Minh Trail in search of connection, healing, and hope in finding her father's crash site from the Vietnam War. This event is more than a film night; it's a gathering with purpose, raising funds for Bike! Bike! and their community Bike Kitchen in Oakland, California.

Ticket price is a suggested donation of $5-$20 (though all donations are welcome). Proceeds benfit the Bike! Bike! Bike Kitchen in Oakland.

What to expect

  • Virtual welcome from Rebecca Rusch: Begin the evening with a special video greeting from Rebecca, sharing her inspiration and the impact of Blood Road.

  • Community connection: Join a gathering of passionate individuals who believe in the power of cycling to create positive change.

  • Direct impact: All funds raised will directly benefit both Bike! Bike! West and the Be Good™ Foundation, supporting our shared mission to use the bicycle as a tool for empowerment, healing, and community transformation.

Who is Bike! Bike! West?

Bike! Bike! West's community bike kitchen is a place where old bikes are stripped down and built anew, either gifted or sold very cheaply. Our community bike kitchen at the Crucible in Oakland, California, runs on a carb grant that allows us to do zero-cost repairs and teach bike mechanics to a host of local folks in West Oakland.

The Blood Road film

Released in 2017 with Red Bull Media House, the Emmy Award-winning film Blood Road follows the journey of ultra-endurance mountain bike athlete Rebecca Rusch and her Vietnamese riding partner, Huyen Nguyen, as they pedal 1,200 miles along the infamous Ho Chi Minh Trail through the dense jungles of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Their goal: to reach the crash site and final resting place of Rebecca's father, a U.S. Air Force pilot shot down over Laos some 40 years earlier. During this poignant voyage of self-discovery, the women push their bodies to the limit while learning more about the historic "blood road" they’re pedaling and how the Vietnam War shaped their lives in different ways.

Rebecca's deeply personal quest to find her father and his guiding words, "Be good," ultimately became the genesis for a global mission: a call to action for all who desire to live with purpose, explore with passion, and create lasting change. Rebecca's Be Good™ Foundation, a 501c3 organization officially founded in 2019, is committed to enriching communities using the bicycle as a catalyst for healing, empowerment, and evolution.
